Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadi on Yusuf Al-Qaradaawi

Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi-ee (rahimahullaah) said:

Some of the Hizbiyyoon (illegal partisans) will say: ”A scholar amongst the scholars and you call him a barking dog! This is great O Abaa AbdirRahmaan! A scholar amongst the scholars! The Mufti of Qatar!”

Listen to Allaah’s statement:

And recite (O Muhammad) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away, so Shaitan (Satan) followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.  And had We willed, We would surely have elevated him therewith but he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire. So his description is the description of a dog: if you drive him away, he lolls his tongue out, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls his tongue out. Such is the description of the people who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So relate the stories, perhaps they may reflect.  Evil is the likeness of the people who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses and signs, etc.), and used to wrong their ownselves.” [Soorah A’raaf: Ayaat:175-177]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them).” [Soorah Al-Juma-ah: Ayah 5]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

 إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلۡبُكۡمُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ

”Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not.” [Soorah Anfaal: Ayah:22]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

”Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen, and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away, averse (to the truth).”

So I say: Abdullaah Bin Sabah Al-Yahoodee-the one who came from San’a and arrived in Madeenah–manifested asceticism, fear of Allaah, worship and other than that in Islaam. (He manifested) enjoining good and forbidding evil, and thereafter he disseminated trials and became the cause of much trial. Therefore, the Sunni must be recognized as opposed to the hizbiy (illegal partisan).  And I do not say that he (Al-Qaradaawee) is a Christian or a Jew; rather (we have been) asked (about him), for indeed his falsehoods which he makes to resemble the truth are dangerous.

The 3 types of oppression – Imam As Sadi

An excerpt from Imam Sadi’s Sharh of the hadeeth:

“اتقوا الظلم فإن الظلم ظلمات يوم “القيامة

Fear oppression, for indeed oppression is darkness on yawmul qiyaamah.
Agreed upon
———–
The shaykh says at the end of his sharh that there are three types of oppression:

1, A type that Allah does not forgive, and it is associating partners with Allah

“Indeed Allah does not forgive those who associate partners with him” An-Nisa; Verse 48

2. A type of oppression that Allah does not leave anything from it; and it is the oppression of the slaves one to another. So from the perfection of Allah’s justice is that he will punish the creation, in accordance to their oppressing each other.

3. A type of oppression which is under the will of Allah; if Allah wills he will punish him, and if he wills he will forgive its people, and (this oppression) is the sins which are between the slaves and his Lord, regarding that which is lesser than shirk.

Patience at the time of calamities

Shaykh Fawzaan was asked how to be firm with calamities and how to be pleased with the predestination and decree of Allah in light of the prophetic guidance, the Shaykh – may Allah preserve him – answered:

Obligatory upon the Muslim at the befalling of calamities is patience and seeking the reward from Allah and supplication, due to HIS statement – The Most High – {give glad tidings to the patient ones. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.”} (1) And also obligatory is restricting the tongue from complaining, wailing and moaning from what has come to pass of predestination and decree. So it is upon the Muslim to be patient and that he says: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.O Allah take me out of my plight and bring to me after it something better.” (2) This is what has been reported for the one stricken with calamity to say at the occurrence of the calamity. Softening the hearts [Saheeh Bukhaari: Chapter: One should always look at the one who is below him….

Narrated Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu): Allaah’s Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”If anyone of you looked at a person who was made superior to him in wealth and (good) appearance, then let him also look at the one who is below him and to whom he has been made superior.” [1]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: So that he may recognize Allaah’s blessing upon him. And in another narration (it is stated): So that he does not belittle the blessings Allaah has bestowed upon him. [2]

Saheeh Al-Bukhaari -Softening of the hearts- with short comments by Imaam Bin Baaz

Narrated Anas (radiyallaahu-anhu): The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”O Allaah! There is no life worth living except the life of the Hereafter, so make righteous the Ansaar and the emigrants.” [1]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

”There is no life that has much importance except the life of the Hereafter, because it does not end.” [2]

[2] The means and actions by way of which reward (for deeds) are increased—Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

And from the means of increasing the (reward for good deeds) is the basis and foundation of what has preceded [see here:wp.me/p4cUPQ-8a] and that is (the presence of) sound Aqeedah; a strong belief in Allaah and in His Attributes; a slave’s strong desire (to worship Allaah –fulfilling the commandments and keeping away from the forbidden affairs with perfection) and his fervent desire for goodness. For indeed those who are the genuine Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah and those people of knowledge (i.e. the Rabbaani scholars)who possess knowledge of the perfect and detailed (explanation) of the Names and Attributes of Allaah and have a strong desire for the meeting with Him (in the Afterlife); the reward for their deeds are greatly increased in a manner in which others who share the same belief can neither reach nor approach in the least. And this is why the Salaf used to say: When Ahlus Sunnah are held back by their deeds (i.e. not having numerous deeds), they are supported by their soundcreed (through which the reward for their good deeds accompanied by strong Imaan, sound Aqeedah and adherence to the authentic Sunnah are increased). And based on this, then Ahlus Sunnah are the guided ones and ahlul bidah are the misguided ones.  It is well known that there is a difference between the one who traverses the straight path and the one who is deviated from it towards the path of the hellfire, and the end result of this (misguided) person is either that he is excused for his misguidance or he may not be excused.

[1] The Means and actions by way of which reward (for deeds) are increased–Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

Question:

What are the means and actions by way of which reward (for deeds) are increased?

Answer:

As for the increase of reward for a good deed to ten times the like thereof, this has to occur in every righteous action just as Allaah (The Most High) said: [مَن جَآءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ ۥ عَشۡرُ أَمۡثَالِهَا‌ۖ ] ”Whoever brings a good deed (Islamic Monotheism and deeds of obedience to Allah and His Messenger) shall have ten times the like thereof to his credit.” [1] As for the increase beyond this, which is what the questioner intends (in his question), it has its means: [a] It is either connected to the performer of the deed or the deed itself; and [b] It is either connected to the time (in which the deed is performed) or the place, or its (good) outcomes.

And from the most important means of increasing (the reward for good deeds) is when a slave actualises sincerity to Allaah and adherence to the way of the Messenger in his deeds.  So (this increase occurs) when a deed is from those deeds legislated (in the sharia) and the slave intends by way of it the Pleasure of Allaah and seeking His Reward, and (when) this intention is firmly established as the urge towards the deed and the goal behind it, such that his deed is (carried out) due to his belief in Allaah and His Messenger; and (when) the urge behind (his deed) is due to (responding) to the command of Allaah and his aim is to seek the Face of Allaah and His Pleasure, just as the meaning of (these affairs) have been mentioned in a number of Aayaat and Ahaadeeth, such as the saying of Allaah (The Most High): [إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ ] ”Verily, Allah accepts only from those who are Al-Muttaqun.” [2] That is: Those who fear Allaah in their deeds by actualizing Ikhlaas (sincerity to Allaah) and Mutaaba-ah (adherence to the path of the Messenger).  And likewise, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”Whoever fasts the month of Ramadhaan, his previous (minor) sins will be forgiven”; ”And whoever stands (in the night prayer) during Ramadan out of Imaan and seeking reward (from Allaah), then all of his previous (minor) sins will be forgiven;” [3] and other texts besides these.

Therefore, a few deeds accompanied by complete sincerity carries much greater weight, which cannot be reached (i.e. through deeds accompanied by a weaker strength in sincerity even if they are numerous).  And because of this, the apparent actions have more virtue over one another in the presence of Allaah due to the Imaan and sincerity established in the hearts. Also abandonment of what the soul desires of forbidden desires is included in those righteous actions that have virtue over one another due to the different levels of sincerity–and that is when a (person) sincerely abandons them from the bottom of his heart and not out of other than sincerity. The story of the companions of the cave (i.e. in soorah Kahf) is a witness to this. [4]

This categorization of Tawheed is not found except with the Ikhwaaniyyah

Shaikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said: This categorization of Tawheed (i.e. Tawheed Ar-Ruboobiyyah, Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah, Tawheed Al-Asmaa Was-Sifaat and Tawheed Al-Haakimiyyah) is not found except with the Ikhwaaniyyah (i.e. the deviant Muslim brotherhood sect); rather Tawheed Al-Haakimiyyah enters into Tawheed Al-Uloohiyyah etc

Our Salaf: Ibn Seereen–There is nothing more frightening than this Ayah!

Imaam Ibn Seereen (rahimahullaah) said:

There is nothing more frightening than this Ayah:

[وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُمْ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ]

”And of mankind, there are some who say: “We believe in Allah and the Last Day” while in fact they believe not.” [Q 2:8]
