Quote:

Welcome to Salafis.Com! There is much talk regarding Salafis and Salafiyyah in books, journals, the press and various other media. The “Salafi Way” is not something new, invented or innovated. By definition, it is the pure Islaam which the Companions of Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) held onto. When the sects foretold by the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) appeared, those who took knowledge from the Companions began to verbally express the obligation of holding onto the way of (السلف الصالح), “The Righteous Predecessors.” From such statements is the saying of Imaam al-Zuhree (d. 124H), “Adhere to the tracks of the Salaf, even if the people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men, even if they beautify it for you with speech.” Hence, Salafiyyah is not a later innovation. Salafis are the target of sectarian bias and bigotry for many factions, from them the Raafidah, Soofiyyah, Kharijites and takfiris, the blind-followers of the madhaahib, Secularists, Modernists and many others. As such there is a lot of propaganda in the field which is unfortunately entered into what is claimed to be “objective research”. To make matters more confusing is the presence of numerous orientations falsely ascribing to Salafiyyah despite their deviations from it in their foundations and methodologies. Many of the takfiri, Khariji groups make this false ascription. This adds another layer of confusion to anyone wanting to research and understand Salafiyyah, and leads to Salafis being wrongly attributed with the iniquities of the takfiris and Kharijites. In light of all of these realities, this website aims to provide relevant information and critical evaluation and analysis of the various views and opinions that are being scattered in books, journals, blogs, websites, audios and videos in relation to “Salafis” and “Salafiyyah“.

[1] Rushing to make takfeer of the Muslim Rulers

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

———————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) said:

”All Praise is due to Allaah, Who, in every time period between the (advent of the) Messengers, raises up a group from the People of Knowledge who call the misguided ones to guidance and patiently bear their harm. Through the Book of Allah they give life to the dead, and by Allaah’s light they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees have they revived; how many a people astray and wandering (blindly) have they guided; how beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile people have been towards them! They repel from the Book of Allaah the distortions of those going beyond bounds, the false claims of the falsifiers and the false interpretations of the ignoramus–those who uphold the banner of innovation and release the fitan. They differ about the Book, oppose the Book and agree to oppose the Book. They speak about Allah and His Book without knowledge, argue about what is ambiguous in the Book and deceive the ignorant ones with such ambiguities. So we seek refuge in Allaah from the fitan (trials and tribulations) of the misguided ones.” [1]

Indeed to possess knowledge of the sharia texts and the (true) knowledge of truth and falsehood are the greatest means to actualising servitude to Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic).  It is the unique cure for the tragedies of ignorance.  And to be ignorant of the Sharia texts and being deprived of (true) knowledge of truth and falsehood will lead a person to a network of paths and hedges designed as a puzzle through which one has to find a way; so he becomes like a ball in the hands of shaytaan, who turns it the way he pleases.  It is enough for an ignorant person to ask a scholar if he is not firmly grounded in seeking knowledge and in acquainting himself with the truth.  Allaah (The Most High) said:

فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ

” So ask the Ahl Dhikr (i.e. the people knowledge), if you know not.” [An-Nahl. Ayah: 43]

However, the greatest calamity is when a person is ignorant but then he gives verdicts in the most dangerous of affairs, such as takfeer and the rulings related to capital punishment. Ignorance in the affairs of Takfeer and the rulings related to capital punishment, wealth and honour are from the greatest means that leads to chaos in some of the lands.  And it is from the paths utilized by the khawaarij to spread chaos in the rest of the Muslim countries. Indeed Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) has warned against speaking without knowledge, saying:

”Say (O Muhammad): “(But) the things that my Lord has indeed forbidden are Al-Fawahish (great evil sins, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, sins (of all kinds), unrighteous oppression, joining partners (in worship) with Allah for which He has given no authority, and saying things about Allah of which you have no knowledge.” [Al-Araaf. Ayah:33]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡـُٔولاً۬

”And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one’s saying: “I have seen,” while in fact he has not seen, or “I have heard,” while he has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah).” [Al-Israa. Ayah 36]

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) revealed the Noble Qur’aan for the guidance of mankind and to remove them from darkness and enter them into light.  Allaah (The Most High) said:

 مَّا فَرَّطۡنَا فِى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ مِن شَىۡءٍ۬‌ۚ

‘’We have neglected nothing in the Book.’’ [An-An’aam. Ayah 38]

And Allaah (The Most High) said:

[كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَيۡكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌ۬ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓاْ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ  ]

”(This is) a Book (the Qur’an) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.” [Saad. Ayah:29]

The Qur’aan is a cure for the sicknesses in the breasts.  Allaah (The Most High) said:

[يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡكُم مَّوۡعِظَةٌ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ وَشِفَآءٌ۬ لِّمَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدً۬ى وَرَحۡمَةٌ۬ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ]

”O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Qur’an, ordering all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences, etc.) in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things, etc.) for the believers.” [Yoonus. Ayah: 57]

As a result of being ignorant of the true intended meanings of the verses of the Qur’aan and the heart being engulfed in the darkness of desires, a person is deprived of the cure found in the Qur’aan, and thus he remains in the sickness of doubts and extreme confusion.  Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

”Indeed Allaah made the Qur’aan a cure for what is in the breasts and a clarification of all affairs for the people, and the opposite of this is impossible (i.e. the Qur’aan cannot cease to be a cure and a clarification); however, the distinguishing knowledge-based proofs of Messengership may become obscure in some places and eras until they (i.e. the people) become unaware of what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) was sent with—either by not knowing the wordings or they may know the wording but not their intended true meanings. Thus they begin to tread (the path) of ignorance due to being deprived of the light found in the knowledge of Prophet hood; so at this juncture polytheism occurs, and the religion is split into sects, such as the trial that leads to the use of the sword (i.e. killing).  Therefore, the trials of (ignorant) speech and action are from those aspects of ignorance, (which occurs) as result of the light of Prophet hood being hidden from the people, just as Imaam Maalik (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’Slackness in practicing (the religion) occurs when knowledge becomes scarce and desires (i.e. innovations) occur when the authentic narrations are scarce.”

And because of this trials have been likened to a portion of a very dark night. And also due to this Imaam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) said:  ”All Praise is due to Allaah, Who, in every time period between the (advent of the) Messengers, raises up a group from the People of Knowledge who call the misguided ones to guidance and patiently bear their harm. Through the Book of Allah they give life to the dead, and by Allaah’s light they give sight to the blind. How many a person killed by Iblees have they revived; how many a people astray and wandering (blindly) have they guided; how beautiful their effect has been upon the people, and how vile people have been towards them! They repel from the Book of Allah the distortions of those going beyond bounds, the false claims of the falsifiers and the false interpretations of the ignoramus–those who uphold the banner of innovation and release the fitan. They differ about the Book, oppose the Book and agree to oppose the Book. They speak about Allah and His Book without knowledge, argue about what is ambiguous in the Book and deceive the ignorant with such ambiguities. So we seek refuge in Allaah from the fitan (trials and tribulations) of the misguided-ones.”

Therefore, Guidance will come to the people of the earth; rather it is from the knowledge of the light of Prophet hood, as Allaah (The Most High) said:

[فَإِمَّا يَأۡتِيَنَّڪُم مِّنِّى هُدً۬ى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَاىَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشۡقَىٰ ] ” Then if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoever follows My Guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery.” [Tahaa. Ayah: 123] [2]

To be continued Inshaa-Allaah

The Last Prophet and Messenger Against Al-Nabahani and Followers: The True and Real Reason for Tyrannical Rulers and Their Oppression

The following hadeeth cuts through the fabric of 20th century “fikr” (that borrowed its practical methodologies from Marxism and Communism), tears it to pieces, and rips it into shreds – it is the hadeeth of Abdullah bin Umar (radiallaahu anhu) – and it is a sword amongst the unsheathed swords of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah against the Ash’ari, Mu’tazili Kalaam heretics who brought turmoil into the Ummah with their vile hizbiyyah and vile party-politics, bringing fake and corrupt so-called methodologies of rectification which are nothing but the practical elements of the ideologies of secular atheist Jews (Marx, Lenin etc.) – that of revolution in the name of social justice.

So here is that sword…

From Abdullah bin Umar (radiallaahu anhumaa) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) turned to us and said: “O gathering of the emigrants, there are five (matters), when you are tried by them, and I seek refuge in Allaah that you reach them:

  • Never does obscenity (al-faahishah) become maniest amongst a people such that they make it open except that plagues and disease afflict them that had never appeared in their ancestors who have passed (before them).
  • And never do they cheat in the weights and measures except that they are taken with years of harship and severe lack of food and the tyranny of the ruler upon them.
  • And never do they withhold the zakah from their wealth except that they are prevented from the rain from the sky and had it not been for the animals, they would never have been given rain (thereafter).
  • And never do they break the covenant of Allaah and the covenant of His Messenger except that Allaah empowers an enemy over them from those besides them, and thus they (the enemy) take that which used to be in their possession.
  • And so long as their leaders do not rule by the Book of Allaah, the Mighty and Majestic, and intentfully seek out in that which Allaah revealed, except that Allaah creates turmoil (splitting, aggression, fighting) between them.

This hadeeth was related by Ibn Maajah (4019), al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak (4/583), and al-Tabarani in al-Awsat (5/61-62), and it is declared Hasan by Shaykh al-Albani (rahimahullaah). And ahaadeeth with the same meaning are related by Ibn Abbaas and Jaabir bin Abdillaah (radiallaahu anhum).

Taqi Al-Din Al-Nabahani and the Ba’thist Communist Influence Behind His Political Party (Hizb Al-Tahrir)

Introduction

Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani (1909-1977CE) is the founder of the group “Hizb ut-Tahrir“, the picture on the right – taken in his early years – indicates the traditional Azhari, Ash’ari early upbringing. He was an Ash’ari in aqidah (mixed with some of usool of the Mu’tazilah, Murji’ah and Qadariyyah). He is of Palestinian origin, coming from a Sufi family background. His maternal grandfather was Yusuf bin Ismaa’eel an-Nabahani, a fervent adherent of Tasawwuf and one who authored a book, “Shawaahid ul-Haqq fil-Istighaathah bi Sayyid il-Khalq“, arguing for the justification of seeking and calling upon the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) for rescue from calamity in those things in which only Allaah has power and ability. Given this family background (Ash’ari Sufi with Mu’tazili, Qadariyy usool) it is not surprising to see that in all the books of Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani, the grandson, the discussion of Tawhid barely extends further than merely affirming Allaah’s existence and around nine or ten attributes (which is not the Tawhid that the Messengers came to establish).

Taqi ud-Din an-Nabahani authored a range of books outlining his own political philosophy including “Nidhaam ul-Islaam” and “ash-Shakhsiyyah al-Islaamiyyah“. Like those before him such as Hasan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb, an-Nabahani was an Ash’ari, Maturidi in his aqidah and carried some of the usool of the Mu’tazilah, and Ash’ariyyah in his works. His goal, just like previous Ash’arites such as Hasan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb, was the restoration of the khilaafah, and he just like them, considered all Muslim lands to be lands of kufr in which a revolution, ideological or otherwise, was obligatory. All of these ideologies of the 20th century came from Ash’ari, Maturidi, [Sufi] agitators who were far away from the creed (aqidah) of the Salaf, and were influenced – in their methodologies of reform – by the practical elements of the prevailing secular ideologies of their time, in particular Marxism and Leninism. When we come to realize that al-Nabahani was himself a Ba’thist Communist, his political ideology should no longer be surprising.

Who really was Taqi al-Din al-Nabahani?

Taqi al-Din al-Nabahani – a former Ba’thist Nationalist – set up a political party (Hizb al-Tahrir) whose objectives, methodologies and structures were strongly influenced by that background. He is one of numerous 20th century thinkers – amongst them Hasan al-Bannaa, Abu A’la Mawdudi and Sayyid Qutb – who came under the influence of the prevailing secular ideologies of the time (the pursuit of “social justice” through revolutions) in formulating methodologies of reform amongst Muslims. Like Banna, Mawdudi and Qutb, al-Nabahani has a cult-like following across the world. He had a mixture of an Ash’ari, Mu’tazili belief indicating he was carrying that vile poison of ilm al-kalaam which played an instrumental role in splitting and dividing the Ummah from the second century of Islam onwards. The party cult of al-Nabahani employs secrecy and dissimulation in winning recruits for their cause and they have a very rigid, party structure (based around Communist type parties). Their interpretation of history (as in the true underlying reasons and causes behind the ascendancy and fall of nations) is taken from the same Marxist, Socialist, Communist discourse that centers around the flag and slogan of “social justice”. At the same time they completely ignore what is found in the Book and the Sunnah in relation to the explanation of these matters.

The picture of al-Nabahani to the right should give the reader a good idea of what type of Islam al-Nabahani himself was upon…..

Who should we take our knowledge from? Shaykh Rabee’

Shaykh Rabee – may Allah preserve him and reward him with good – was asked about taking knowledge from those upon the Salafi Manhaj; he said:

If he was upon the Salafi Manhaj and didn’t have any misguidance (with him) and he calls to the Salafi Manhaj, then it is obligatory that knowledge is taken from him and it is not taken from the people of falsehood.

The salaf used to say: Indeed this knowledge is religion so look (beware) of whom you take your religion from. And if a man used to speak (about the religion) they would say to him: “Name us your men” so if they were people of innovation (that he named) they would not take (any knowledge) from him and if they were from the people of sunnah, then (the salaf) would take from him.

Therefore the religion of Allah is not taken from the people of falsehood, because they are the people of deception and they mix falsehood with truth, so as to propagate their falsehood.

So it is upon the student that he is diligent in taking knowledge from its pure unadulterated sources, from the Salafi books, from those who teach these books and from the sincere truthful ardent ones who spread the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah – peace and blessings upon him – and spread his correct methodology. And from those who are sincere, truthful and ardent upon guiding the people and saving them from misguidance and from the destructive paths.

Praising Innovators – Shaykh Muhammad bin Haadi

The questioner says—may Allah reward you with good:

‘There is a person who praises the people of innovation and rejects the speech of the scholars of the Sunnah concerning them, and he also defames the scholars of the Sunnah and so on.’

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Hadi:

“Whoever praises the people of innovation, without doubt, he is from the innovators; rather, he is without doubt from their callers. The people asked our Shaykh—may Allah’s Mercy be upon him—Shaykh ‘Abd al-’Aziz ibn Baz, during the lesson of the explanation of the book Fadl al-Islam is the person who praises the people of innovation considered from them. He said, yes, there is no doubt that he is from them; rather, he is from their callers. This is available in his voice and in writing, all praise is for Allah, and there is no doubt concerning this.”

[2] The Stance of the Salaf Towards Ahlul Bidah

Abu Qilaabah said: “Neither sit with the people of desires (i.e. people of bidah) nor argue with them, for indeed I do not feel secure that they will plunge you in their misguidance, or bewilder you regarding what (i.e. the truth) you already know.”

[Al-Ibaanah369]

Salaam bin Abee Mutee said: A man from the people of bidah said to Ayyoub (i.e. Ayyoob As-Sakhtiyaanee): ‘O Abu- Bakr! Can I ask you about a word? [He (i.e. Salaam)] said: “So I saw him (i.e. Ayyoub) gesturing with his hand, whilst saying: ”’Not even half a word; not even half a word!”

[Al-Ibaanah of Ibn Battah 482]
