The Virtue of Knowledge: Khut’bah at Masjid al-Furqan This Friday InShaaAllaah (06/08/21)- [An Encouragement to Attend The Gatherings of Knowledge When They Resume]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Quote: Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[وَٱلضُّحَىٰ  وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ – By the forenoon (after sunrise); and by the night when it is still (or darkens)].

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] stated in Madaarij As-Saalikeen Vol 2 page 449: Allaah swore by two of His great creations – the Night and the Day, both of which are an a manifest sign of His Perfect and Absolute Lordship, Perfect Wisdom and Perfect Mercy. Allaah is the one (alone) Who dispels the night by way of the Daylight, and likewise He is the one Who dispels the darkness of ignorance and Shirk by way of the revelation and Prophet-hood.

Likewise due to His Mercy, it necessitates that His slaves are not left in the darkness of night permanently; rather He guides them towards the beneficial affairs of the worldly life and their livelihoods by way of the Daylight; therefore it does not befit His (Majesty) that He leaves them in the darkness of ignorance and deviation; rather He guides them by way of the light of revelation and Prophet-hood in order that they may attain well-being in this life and the next.

Khutbah: Hold Firm to The Book & Sunnah

In this khutbah Ustaadh reminds us of the command of Allaah for us to implement and abide by The Qur’aan and The Sunnah of His Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam).

Allaah says in Surah Ali ‘Imran [3:102-103] in His Book:

“O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah. And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. this Quran), and be not divided among yourselves”

Khutbah: For All Shall Be Levels According To Their Deeds

Indeed we will depart from this dunya. We will depart and will be accountable before Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.

In this khutbah Ustaadh gives a severe admonition as to what we will earn according to the degrees of our actions, our deeds and our speech. We will only receive from the bounty of Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala according to these deeds and actions. So we must hasten in this dunya to acquire good deeds, and perfecting those deeds.

Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says regarding those that are obedient to Him:

“They are in varying grades with Allaah, and Allaah is All-Seer of what they do.”

– Surah Ali ‘Imran [3:163] – Al-Qur’aan

Khutbah: Recommended Fasts After Ramadhaan

Fasting does not end at the end of Ramadhaan. Allaah has legislated other fasts which we can engage in to still attain the benefits of fasting and to keep us in that state of discipline & mindfulness towards Allaah.

Allaah has blessed that we were in the month of Ramadhaan and He has blessed us that we have completed the month.

Righteous deeds and the worship of Allaah do not end with the end of Ramadhaan. They should continue after the month of Ramadhaan.

Fasting in the month of Ramadhaan brought so many benefits for us, taught us many lessons, patience, perseverance, self control, self discipline. These things we can carry on outside the blessed month.

Let us all safeguard what Ramadhaan taught us. Let us safeguard those benefits and let us safeguard that purification & cleansing that we attained during the blessed month.

Khutbah: Ramadhaan Has Not Ended Yet

Allaah has favoured us and blessed us that we have reached the half way point of Ramadhaan.

For those who strive and have been striving since the beginning of Ramadhaan, continue to strive for indeed the promise of Allaah is Haqq. Stay upon that firmness till the end of Ramadhaan. Increase in good and righteous deeds for Ramadhaan has not ended yet.

For those who have been a bit lazy with the righteousness and the actions of obedience they could have done, likewise know that Ramadhaan has not ended yet. There is still time for you to rectify that which you need to rectify between you and your Lord.
