Reminder: A Tremendous Reward in This Life and the Next for Those Who Forgive Others When Afflicted With Personal Harm

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَا تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلَا السَّيِّئَةُ ۚ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ

The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend

But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character)

(The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal] – meaning: There is a big difference between this (i.e. a good deed) and this (i.e. an evil deed).

[ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ – (Repel (the evil) with one which is better]-meaning: The one who does wrong to you, repel (his evil) by treating him in a good manner, just as Umar (radiyallaahu-anhu) said: “There is no better punishment for one who has disobeyed Allah regarding you (i.e. violates a right of yours that Allaah has commanded to be fulfilled) than your obeying Allah regarding him (i.e. you fulfilling his rights in obedience to Allaah). ”

[فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ – (then verily he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend] – meaning: If you (return) good treatment to the one who treat you badly, this good deed (or treatment) will lead to reconciliation and love. He will show you affection and become as if he is a close friend to you, and shows you pity and kindness. Then Allah says:

[وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا- (But none is granted it except those who are patient]-meaning: No one accepts this advice and acts in accordance with it, except for the one who exercises patience in that, because it is hard on the souls (i.e. difficult for people act upon it).

[وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ ]- (and none is granted it except the owner of the great port ion] – meaning: The one who has an ample share of happiness in this world and in the Hereafter. ` Ali bin Abee Talhah said that Ibn` Abbas said in his explanation of this Ayah: “Allaah command the believers to exercise patience when they are angry, to be forbearing when encountered with ignorance and to forgive when treated badly; for if they do that, Allaah will protect them from shaytaan and make their enemies humble (in their presence) until they become like close friends.

Reminder: Unbefitting or Bad Words In Our Conversations and Discussions Will Enable shaytaan to sow enmity among Us, So Let Us Not Be From Those who help him in anyway

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَقُل لِّعِبَادِي يَقُولُوا الَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنزَغُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلْإِنسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا

And say to My slaves that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan (Satan) verily, sows disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is to man a plain enemy.

Imaam Ibn Katheer (rahimahullaah) stated:

Allaah [The Blessed and Most High] command His slave and Messenger [i.e. Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] to command Allaah’s believing slaves that they speak to one another in their conversations and discussions with what is better and good, for if they do not do that, shaytaan will sow a state of conflict between them and speech will lead to actions, and thus evil, (blameworthy) argumentation and fighting will arise; for indeed shaytaan is an enemy of Aadam and his children since (the time) he refused to prostrate to Aadam. His enmity is clear and manifest, so because of this, it prohibited for a man to point at his Muslim brother with an iron (instrument), for indeed shaytaan (can entice an evil action) in his hand and he may cause him to strike him (i.e. his Muslim brother) with it.

Reminder: The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) Advised Mu’aadh (radiyallaahu-anhu) To Make This Supplication after the Prayer

It was reported from Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman Al-Hubli, from As-SunãbihI, from Mu’ädh bin Jabal, that the Messenger of Allah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) held his hand and said: “0 Mu’adh! I swear by Allah, I love you. I swear by Allah, I love you. I advise you, 0 Mu’ãdh, that you never leave saying after every prayer,

Help me in remembering You, thanking You, and perfecting my worship of You (1)].” And Mu’ãdh advised As-Sunãbihi with that, and As-Sunabihi advised Abu ‘Abdur-RahmAn with that. [2]

[1] According to Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah), it is better to supplicate with this supplication after the Tasha’hud and before the Tasleem, but there is no harm in doing so after the Tasleem. For further details, refer to this link to find out why the Shaikh (rahimahullaah) says so. http://www.binbaz.org.sa/node/949

[3] Shaikh Rabee quotes a statement of some of the Salaf regarding one of the qualities of a just person

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali (may Allaah preserve him) said that some of the Salaf stated regarding a just person:  ”The just (person) is the one who when angry is not entered into falsehood by his anger. And when he is pleased, being pleased does not removed him from the truth.

Shaikh Rabee Clarifies Regarding When Someone Would Be Regarded as One imitating the khawaarij In Their Act of Shaving the Head

Question to Shaikh Rabee (may Allaah preserve him):

Our Shaikh-may Allaah preserve you. (Regarding) the statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): ‘’Their sign (i.e. the khawaarij) will be the habit of shaving.’’ [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari, Hadeeth Number 562, Vol 9] So is the one who shaves a lot in this era similar to them because some of the scholars say that it (i.e. shaving) is not a sign of theirs at present?

The Shaikh (may Allaah preserve him) responded:

Answer: The who does not intend to imitate them, rather he (only) wants to shave his head, this is permissible. (That is) because the initial (ruling regarding this affair) is Al-Jawaaz (permissibility) and he (i.e. the person) does not desire to imitate them. Therefore, this person is not from them, for they (i.e. khawaarij) used to adopt shaving as a sign for themselves in order to distinguish them from the Muslims. They adopted shaving as a distinguishing sign just as the shee’ah adopt black clothing. This is a general distinguishing sign of black (clothing) and what is similar to it, just as the soofiyyah (i.e. the soofees) adopt patched garments and some (other types of) clothing to distinguish them from the people. So these distinguishing signs which some people wish to be distinguished by way of religious practice and from the Muslims, then these (people) are people of misguidance who are similar to the khawaarij in their (act of) shaving. As for the one who shaves because it is permissible, he is not included in this In-Shaa-Allaah, except if he adopts it as a distinguishing sign. One of the evil traits of a Seeker of Leadership

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

The seeker of leadership- even through falsehood- becomes pleased with a statement that contains an exaltation of him, even if it is falsehood.  He becomes angered by a statement that contains a rebuke against him, even if it is truth.  (As for) the believer, he is pleased with a statement of truth whether it is for or against him. And he is angered by a statement of falsehood whether it is for or against him.  That is because Allaah (The Most High) loves truth, truthfulness and justice, and He hates lies and oppression. A Warning from Allaah (The Most High) to the Hujjaaj (Pilgrims)

Allaah (The Most High) said:

The Hajj (pilgrimage) is (in) the well-known (lunar year) months (i.e. the 10th month, the 11th month and the first ten days of the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, i.e. two months and ten days). So whosoever intends to perform Hajj therein by assuming Ihram), then he should not have sexual relations (with his wife), nor commit sin, nor dispute unjustly during the Hajj. And whatever good you do, (be sure) Allah knows it. And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but the best provision is At-Taqwa (piety, righteousness, etc.). So fear Me, O men of understanding! [2:197]

O Muslim Ummah! Call yourselves to account, repent to your Lord, ask for His Forgiveness, rush towards obedience to Him and guard yourselves against disobedience to Him….

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) stated:

O Muslim Ummah! Call yourselves to account, repent to your Lord, ask for His Forgiveness, rush towards obedience to Him and guard yourselves against disobedience to Him.   Co-operate upon righteousness and piety, and do good, truly Allaah loves the good-doers.  Be just, truly Allaah loves those who are just. Perform numerous righteous deeds before death approaches.

Be merciful to your weak ones and be charitable to your poor ones.  Increase in the Remembrance of Allaah and in seeking His Forgiveness.  Enjoin good and forbid evil in order that you may be shown mercy. Take a lesson from the calamities that have afflicted others due to sins and disobedience.  Indeed, Allaah accepts the repentance of those who repent and shows Mercy to the good-doers.  Allaah (Glorified be He) will give the good end results to the pious ones, as He (Glorified be He) stated:

فَاصْبِرْ ۖ إِنَّ الْعَاقِبَةَ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for the Muttaqûn. 11:49

Allaah (The Most High) said:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوا وَّالَّذِينَ هُم مُّحْسِنُونَ

Truly, Allâh is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are Muhsinûn (good-doers) 16:128

Allah responds to supplication when asked through His Beautiful Names and Lofty Attributes, so we ask Him to show mercy to His Muslim slaves.  And that He gives them understanding of their religion and aids them against His enemies and their enemies. And that He sends down suffering on them (i.e. the enemies of Allaah and the Muslim) – a type of suffering that is not averted from a rebellious people.  Indeed, Allaah has authority and power over that. And may peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, his companions and those who follow them in goodness till the Day of Judgment.

[3] O Muslims! You are aware of the various trials and calamities that have occurred in this era of ours.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestwer of Mercy

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said:

O Muslims! You are aware of the various trials and calamities that have occurred in this era of ours.  From them are the earthquakes in Yemen and in many other lands, the destructive floods, the hurricanes that destroyed a lot of wealth, trees, sea transportation, and the various snow falls that brought about innumerable harm, and the starvation and drought in many lands. All this and the various punishments and calamities similar to them are as a result of disbelief, sins, deviation from obedience to Allaah, (sinful) engagement with the Dunyah and its fleeting lusts, turning away from the hereafter and not being prepared for it, except for the one upon whom Allaah bestows His Mercy amongst His slaves.

No doubt these calamities and other than them should make the slaves rush towards repentance to Allaah (Glorified be He) from all that Allaah has made forbidden for them, and they should hasten towards obedience to Allaah and judge by His Sharee’ah. They should co-operate upon righteous and piety, and enjoin one another upon the truth whilst exercising patience upon that.

If the slaves repent to their Lord and humble themselves before Him, and hasten towards what pleases Him, co-operate upon righteousness and piety, enjoin good and forbid evil, Allaah will rectify their affairs and suffice them against the evil of their enemies.  He will establish them upon the earth (i.e. give them authority) and assist them against their enemies.  Allaah (Glorified be He) said:[وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ  -And (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them) 30:47  ]

And Allaah (The Most High) said:

Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors.  And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope; Surely, Allâh’s Mercy is (ever) near unto the good doers.7:55-56

Allaah (The Most High) said:

And (commanding you): “Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Great Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) 11:3

Allaah (The Most High) said:

Allâh has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practice their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islâm). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear.24:55

Allaah (The Most High) said:

The believers, men and women, are Auliyâ’ (helpers, supporters, friends, protectors) of one another, they enjoin (on the people) Al-Ma’rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do), and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. polytheism and disbelief of all kinds, and all that Islâm has forbidden); they perform As-Salât (Iqâmat-as-Salât) and give the Zakât, and obey Allâh and His Messenger. Allâh will have His Mercy on them. Surely Allâh is All-Mighty, All-Wise?? 9:71

Therefore, Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) makes it clear in these Ayaat, that indeed His Mercy, the Goodness (He bestows), the Safety (that He bestows) and all the other types of His blessings are for the one who fears Allaah, believes in Allaah, is obedient to Allaah’s Messengers, steadfast in holding to Allaah’s Sharee’ah and repents to Allaah for his (or her) sins.

As for the one who turns away from obedience to Allaah and refrains from fulfilling Allaah’s Rights due to pride, and persists in disbelief and is disobedience to Allaah (The Most High), then Allaah has promised him various types of punishments in this life and the next.  And by way of what Allaah’s perfect wisdom necessitates, Allaah hastens that for him, so that he becomes a lesson and an admonition for other than him, as Allaah (The Most High) stated:

So, when they forgot (the warning) with which they had been reminded, We opened to them the gates of every (pleasant) thing, until in the midst of their enjoyment in that which they were given, all of a sudden, We took them to punishment, and lo! They were plunged into destruction with deep regrets and sorrows.  So the roots of the people who did wrong were cut off. And all the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the ‘Alamîn (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 6:44-45
