[4] Reminders from Surah Al-Qasas: Beginning of the Criminals’ plight

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”And We inspired the mother of Musa (Moses), (saying): “Suckle him [Musa (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily! We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers. Then the household of Fir’aun (Pharaoh) picked him up, that he might become for them an enemy and a (cause of) grief. Verily! Fir’aun (Pharaoh), Haman and their hosts were sinners.” [28:7-8]

That is: The end result and final outcome of picking up Moosa was that he would be an enemy of theirs and a cause of grief that was to grief them. Because what they feared (i.e. that they were to be destroyed at the hands of a man from Bani israa’eel) did not benefit them due to what Allaah has decreed. And that the one they feared amongst Bani Israa’eel (i.e. Moosaa) had been destined to be a leader of theirs, who was to be nurtured by them, under their eyes and guardianship.

Fir’aun (Pharaoh), Haman and their hosts were sinners]; so We wished to punish them for their sins and planned for them a recompense for their (evil) plots and plans.

Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) also said: And from the usual ways of Allaah (The Most High) is that He causes affairs to appear gradually—little by little—and not just at once.

[3] Reminders from Surah Al-Qasas— how were the oppressed given leadership and victory over the oppressors and corrupters?! [Imaam Shanqeeti Explains]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

”And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land, and to make them rulers and to make them the inheritors; And to establish them in the land, and We let Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared.” [28:5-6]

Imaam Shanqeeti (rahimahullaah) said: We have already stated that His (Allaah’s) statement in this ayah And We wished to do a favour to those who were weak (and oppressed) in the land] is the (intended meaning) in His (other) statement:[وَتَمَّتۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel (7:137)].

And He (Allaah) did not clarify in (the ayah 28:5) the reason for making them (i.e. Bani Israa’eel) leaders—that is: Leaders to good and callers to Him (i.e. to the path of Allaah). Likewise, in He (Allaah) did not clarify the reason for making them inheritors; however He (The Most High) clarified all of that in other places (in the Qur’aan). So He (Allaah) clarified the reason for making them leaders in His saying:

[وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۡہُمۡ أَٮِٕمَّةً۬ يَہۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُواْ‌ۖ وَڪَانُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ –And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)].

[And with regards to His (Allaah) saying: وَأَوۡرَثۡنَا ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَانُواْ يُسۡتَضۡعَفُونَ مَشَـٰرِقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَغَـٰرِبَهَا- And We made the people who were considered weak to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof….] He clarified what He made them inherit, saying: [كَمۡ تَرَكُواْ مِن جَنَّـٰتٍ۬ وَعُيُونٍ۬   — How many of gardens and springs do they [Fir’aun’s (Pharaoh) people] left].   [وَزُرُوعٍ۬ وَمَقَامٍ۬ كَرِيمٍ۬–And green crops (fields etc.) and goodly places] [وَنَعۡمَةٍ۬ كَانُواْ فِيہَا فَـٰكِهِين– And comforts of life wherein they used to take delight!] [كَذَٲلِكَ‌ۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِين– Thus (it was)! And We made other people inherit them (i.e. We made the Children of Israel to inherit the kingdom of Egypt) [44:25-28]

And (also) His (The Most High) saying: [فَأَخۡرَجۡنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍ۬ وَعُيُونٍ۬– So, We expelled them from gardens and springs] [وَكُنُوزٍ۬ وَمَقَامٍ۬ كَرِيمٍ۬ — Treasures, and every kind of honourable place][ كَذَٲلِكَ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسۡرَٲٓءِيلَ– Thus [We turned them (Pharaoh’s people) out] and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them] [26:57-59] [1]

[وَنُرِىَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنۡهُم مَّا ڪَانُواْ يَحۡذَرُون ] [And We let Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and Haman and their hosts receive from them that which they feared] for indeed they were informed that they would be destroyed through the hands of a man of Bani Israa’eel, so they were afraid of them. However Allaah made them received what they feared. [2]

Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) said:

If Allaah wishes that an affair (should take place); He makes the means to it easy and makes its paths distinct. [3]

[2] Reminders from Surah Al-Qasas—Look at how Imaam Sadi and Imaam Ibnul Jawzi described the corrupters in the earth

Allaah (The Most High) said:

‘We recite to you some of the news of Musa (Moses) and Fir’aun (Pharaoh) in truth” [because their story is remarkable and the information about them is amazing indeed (1)]; ”for a people who believe” [those who believe in this Qur’an, and in the Oneness of Allah(2)].

”Verily, Fir’aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidunthose whose intention is neither to rectify the religious nor worldly affairs, and this was from his corrupt behaviour in the earth; (3) committing unlawful killing, and being disobedient (to Allaah). [1] Reminders from Surah Al-Qasas

Allaah (The Most High) said:

طسٓمٓ

تِلۡكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ

”Ta-Sin-Mim; These are Verses of the manifest Book” for every affair needed by the slaves (of Allaah), such as knowledge of their Lord, knowledge of His Rights, knowledge of who His allies and enemies are; knowledge of His doings and annals; knowledge of the recompense for deeds and recompense for the performers of deeds. So this Qur’aan has indeed clarified all these affairs with the greatest clarification, and it made them explicit for the slaves (of Allaah) and it made them clear. [Tayseer Al-Kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam Al-Mannaan’ by Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)]

It is obligatory to believe (in and acknowledge) everything stated by Allaah and His Messengers–Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah)

Allaah (The Most High) said:

قُلۡ صَدَقَ ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ

”Say (O Muhammad): “Allah has spoken the truth.” [3: 95]

”And whose words can be truer than those of Allah? (Of course, none).” [4: 122]

”And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of each and everything).” [35: 14]

”Say (O Muhammad): “What thing is the most great in witness?” Say: “Allah (the Most Great!) is Witness between me and you.’‘[6:19]

”But Allah bears witness to that which He has sent down (the Qur’an) unto you (O Muhammad), He has sent it down with His Knowledge, and the angels bear witness. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a Witness.’‘ [4:166]

”Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” [3: 18]

The Aayaat (concerning) this mighty affair are many, and they are indications to the clearest proofs that the most obligatory of obligations upon the slaves is that they should believe and testify to everything Allaah (The Most High) has stated about Himself–regarding His perfect Attributes and that which He negated from Himself regarding attributes of deficiency, and that Allaah is more knowledgeable of that than His creation. His testimony is the greatest testimony, and what He has stated about Himself and everything else is of the highest degree of truthfulness. So this makes it obligatory on the slave that he (or she) does not enter the least of doubt in his (or her) heart regarding any information given by Allaah. He (or she) is to place that (information) in his (or her) as a firm creed which can neither be opposed by anything in opposition nor blemished by (any) doubt.

He (or she) should know with certain knowledge that it is not possible for anything to (rightfully) oppose the information given by Allaah and His Messenger, and everything that opposes and negates it-regardless what type of knowledge that is- is self-evident falsehood. (It is) false in its judgement and there is nothing to be (considered) sound that can be in opposition to what Allaah has stated.

[Also these Aayaat (3:95; 4:122; 35:14; 6:19; 4:166; 3: 18 etc)] indicate towards the greatest proof that the one who establishes his (or her) creed solely on the information given by Allaah and His Messenger, then indeed he (or she) has established it upon a strong foundation; rather he (or she) has established it on the foundation of all sound foundations even if opponents were appointed or decreed for it.

And how can this not be the case [i.e. that he (or she) is established upon the basis of all sound foundations] when it is the (fact that) the sound intellectual proofs, the sound innate uncorrupted human disposition, the sound uncorrupted paths of comprehension and the sound uncorrupted human (self, frame of mind etc) are all in support of the information given by Allaah and His Messengers—testifying to the truthfulness of that which Allaah and His Messengers have stated and its benefits. And because of this Allaah has praised the people of sound understanding amongst the creation because they establish their creed based on this foundation. (Allaah informed us that they say):

رَّ‌بَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَ‌بِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا ِ‌

“Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad) calling to Faith: ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed.” [3: 193]

”And they say, “We hear, and we obey.’‘ [2: 285)

Those who listen to the Word [good advice La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and Islamic Monotheism, etc.] and follow the best thereof (i.e. worship Allah Alone, repent to Him and avoid Taghut, etc.) those are (the ones) whom Allah has guided and those are men of understanding (like Zaid bin ‘Amr bin Nufail, Salman Al-Farisi and Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari). [39:18]

And from this one knows that the innovated statements and creeds of the futile  people of philosophical rhetoric have neither been given any authority by Allaah nor are they based on the Qur’aan and the Sunnah; rather they are founded on the intellects of those whose mistakes and deviation is known. (Their views) are the most futile of all futilities and the most foolish of all foolish affairs because they turn away from the information given by Allaah and His Messengers—deceived by their souls that call to evil and abandoned to their intellects, which have neither been purified by the realities of Imaan nor have they been nourished with sound Imaan and firm certainty.

This foundation (i.e. belief and testifying to all the information given Allaah and His Messengers) is enough to refute all the statements of the people of deviation with a clear observation, whilst being acquainted with the falsehood (of such statements) in detail. That is because when we know that (these statements) are in opposition to the clear revealed Islamic texts and the  sound unambiguous proofs transmitted by (the scholars from the Book, the Sunnah and the Salaf), then we will know their futility. And that is because anything that opposes the truth is falsehood and that which is in opposition to truthfulness is a lie.

What should I do? I did not complete the Final Tasha-hud…[Imaam Bin Baaz]

Question:

It is well known that the Final Tasha-hud is a pillar from the pillars of prayer; and in one of the prayers I did not complete except a little bit of the Tasha-hud, so should I repeat my prayer?

Answer:

It is upon you to complete the Tasha-hud, even if you missed some (of it whilst praying with) your Imaam (i.e. the one leading you in Salaah); because according to the most correct saying (or view) of the scholars the Final Tasha-hud is a pillar (of the prayer), and there is the Salutation upon the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) in it. Therefore, it is obligatory to complete it even after the Imaam’s Salaam (i.e. after he finishes the prayer). And from it (i.e. the Tasha-hud) is seeking Allaah’s protection from the Hell fire, the punishment of the grave and from the trials of life and death, and from the trial of the Dajjaaj; because the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) commanded with seeking (Allaah’s) protection from these four (things) in the Final Tasha-hud, and that is because some of the people of knowledge consider that to be an obligation.

They (i.e. the people of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance) attributed Deficiencies to Allaah…..

Imaam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhaab (rahimahullaah) said:

”They (i.e. the people of the pre-Islamic era of ignorance) attributed Deficiencies to Allaah…..

Sheikh Saaleh al Fawzaan (Hafidha-hullaah) explained the above, saying:

Deficiency is opposite to Perfection.  Attributing deficiencies to Allaah (Glorified Be He) is a violation of His Lordship, and that is (case) when a son is attributed to Him because the father is in need of a son and is like him.

The Jews said that Ezra (alayhis-salaam) is Allaah’s son and the Christians said that The Messiah (alayhis-salaam) is Allaah’s son; and the Pagan Arabs said that The Angels are Allaah’s daughters; while, (on the other hand) the Christians declare their Monks free from having wives and sons; because (attributing this to the Monks) is a diminution of their rights.  So these (Christians) do not declare Allaah free from that which they free their Monks.

Likewise, the Arabs hated having daughters, while (on the other hand) they attributed that to Allaah.  So they attributed to Allaah what they hated for themselves and considered to be a disgrace and deficiency.  Allaah said:

”And they assign daughters unto Allaah! Glorified and Exalted) is He above all that they associate with Him! And unto themselves what they desire’’ (16:57).

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَيَجۡعَلُونَ لِلَّهِ مَا يَكۡرَهُونَ وَتَصِفُ

”They assign to Allaah that which they dislike (for themselves)” (16:62)

A Muslim Scholar went on a mission to one of the kings of Rome, so when he entered upon (the King) he said to him, ”How is the wife and the children? Thus, those who were present became angry because how can (this Muslim Scholar) describe their leader as having a wife and children!  So (the Muslim Scholar) said to them, ‘you (people) free your leader from having a wife and a son, whilst (on the other hand) you attribute that to Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) and you do not declare Him free from that!  So he silenced them and debated with them, and greatly embarrassed them.
